OUR HISTORY

Kutes Metal was founded in 1990 by Mehmet Bekir Kutmangil as Kutes Döküm under the roof of Kutes Madencilik which has been operating since 1986. The company, active in the field of iron casting, made its first casting in 1992 and concentrated on producing fittings by 1993.

In 1995, Kutes Döküm added valve, automotive, railway and agriculture sectors to its product range, respectively.

In the early 2000s, Kutes Döküm continued to develop its product range and became a prominent actor in construction, hydraulics, air conditioning and industrial machinery sectors, as well as the production of spare parts.

In 2016, the company hosting Kutes Döküm & Kutes Makine took the name Kutes Metal and started machining in 2017.

Mehmet Bekir Kutmangil

He completed his primary and secondary education in Şişli Terakki Lisesi and graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Economics in 1980. At a young age, Kutmangil engaged in iron trade in Perşembe Pazarı and actively participated in the mining business in 1980 as General Manager. In 1986, he founded Kutes Madencilik and subcontracted for Kutman Group of Companies for the production of coal and clay.

Following the death of his father Halis Kutmangil in 1988, he became the Chairman of the Kutman Group of Companies. Under the management of Mehmet Bekir Kutmangil, coal production in the mining sector, the main business of the group, has quadrupled. Approximately three million tons of the production was carried out by Kutes Madencilik.

Turkey's first private forestry company Kut Orman, started reclamation and reforestation of open lignite mine sites in the same year. It has carried out an ecological balance project including a forest of five million trees, ponds and pastures in a 12,000-acre abandoned mine site.

Mehmet Bekir Kutmangil seizing his experience in the field of iron trade founded Kutes Döküm in 1990 under Kutes Madencilik. Kutes Döküm started operations in 1992 and the production of fittings the same year.

In 1993, he took over Günaydın Press Group, which included Günaydın and Tan daily national newspapers and Günaydın FM, making him the youngest executive of the field.

Mehmet Bekir Kutmangil passed away on May 23, 1995 at a very young age. He was survived by his wife Nebahat Kutmangil, his daughter Farah Kutmangil and his son Ali Esat Kutmangil. They continue to walk along the path of Mehmet Bekir Kutmangil.
